Dear Debi,
We got our knives today and I put them
to immediate use. I can't tell you what a
relief it is to have sharp
knives to use. I almost cried with relief. I cooked
professionally
for many years, and enjoyed the use and care of my knives.
Now that I am married our knives were a constant source of irritation,
because my
husband just wouldn't treat them with respect, and my chef's knife was never as
sharp as I liked. My husband's remedy was steak knives from Ross and he would saw
everything, also destroying my cutting boards.
Now
we have you and Cutco. Here are Quality knives that will always be
sharp,
because you guarantee it. My husband has even promised to treat these
knives with
the respect they deserve. How can I put a price on Peace
of Mind? That's what I feel
I've bought; Peace of Mind.
Thank you,
Carol

Cutco trowel
Like so many hand tools, the usual problem with trowels is that they’re
not strong enough. At the top of the
blade where it thins to mate with
the handle, a cheap trowel will bend if you try to dig in
less-than-ideal soil.
My Cutco has never bent and doesn’t have so much
as a hint of rust after seasons of use. That’s never
happened before,
and I’ll never use any other trowel. As a welcome added feature, it’s
also got a comfortable
grip. You can see it at
Cutco.com.
Follow instructions at the website to order directly from the
manufacturer.
At $42, the price seems high for a trowel, but if that
trowel lasts as long as half a dozen other ones
(and I think mine
will), it seems like a great bargain to me.

If this Cutco trowel were a person, it would be going on 29…again. It’s dirty, but it’s not rusted or bent.

I have a whole Cutco set, and just got the japanese inspired santoku
(pictured) for Christmas (love at first slice in case you were
wondering...). But I could live with just one quality chef's knife, and one quality serrated knife for tomatoes,
apples, etc. If budget is an issue I would opt for these two quality
knives and pass over any larger block sets. I use these two knives daily.

Today we were visited by Amy, the eldest daughter of one of our
neighbor friends. Amy is helping to pay for her college education
by
selling Cutco cutlery. Last year I bought a set of Cutco steak
knives,
kitchen shears, and a couple of gift sets as Christmas
presents.
Amy came by this year to check
up on the products she sold and
sharpen all the knives. Cutco products
come with a “Forever Guarantee”
that includes sharpening.
So far all the Cutco stuff
I’ve used has been first rate. It’s a bit expensive
out of the gate,
but their quality construction and lifetime guarantee
means I’ll never
have to purchase a replacement. Plus these knives are
so much sharper
than others I’ve used!
If you’re looking for cutlery, I would encourage you to consider Cutco.
